Diamonds Dominate the 2019 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet

Another Golden Globes has come and gone.   Diamonds, as usual, were the dominant gemstone, however there was a noticeable amount of jewellery with green or yellow gemstones too.  Earrings of course were the most popular item seen on the red carpet, followed by bangles/bracelets, a few necklaces and then the occasional brooch, usually worn as a hair adornment.

Sit back and scroll to see some of the jewellery highlights from 2019's event.

First off, and most noticeable in the jewellery department, was Lady Gaga (above).  Her Tiffany diamond ensemble contained in excess of 300 diamonds and $5 million USD, and she wore it well!  Here are some close ups of her jewels too:

Here are some others (in no particular order) who heavily favoured diamonds.... Alyssa Milano

Amber Heard couldn't make up her mind on which pair to wear, so she wore one of each :)

Charlize Theron in Bulgari

Claire Foy in Lorraine Schwartz (the stylist isn't going to be happy that that earring isn't sitting right!)

Constance Wu in Messika

 Dakota Fanning in vintage Beladona

 Debra Messing

Elizabeth Moss in Neil Lane

Emily Blunt in Neil Lane

 Gemma Chan in Forevermark

Isla Fisher in Harry Winston

Julia Roberts in Chopard

Kiki Lane in a delicate Bulgari choker

Lupita Nyong'o in Bulgari

Michelle Yeoh (whilst she wore predominately diamonds, Michelle also sported a large emerald ring which was her own, and what appeared to be a jade bangle as well).

Rachel Weiz in a Cartier choker

Sandra Oh with a lovely stack of Forevermark diamonds on her wrist as well as generously sized earrings.

Kristen Bell also favoured diamond bangles, earrings and brooch

Danai Gurira wore diamonds in her hair as well as on her ears

Yvonne Strahovsky in an unusual geometric choker by Lorraine Schwartz

Taraji P Henson, like Lady Gaga, dripping in diamonds.

Thandie Newton.  We almost missed these lovely diamond hoops under her mane of hair.

And Camilla Belle chose a dramatic look and geometric earrings

The green/emerald brigade included Jodie Comer,

Saorise Ronan in Chopard,

And Catherine Zeta-Jones in Lorraine Schwartz.

A few braved yellow including Indya Moore,

Lucy Lui

and Rachel Brosnahan

A few other colours appeared, such as Jessica Chastain in pink Piaget

Jameela Jamil also in a pink shade,

And Allison Janey in multihued David Webb

I wonder what the Oscars will bring?
