Finally, an Awards show where the jewellery often outshone the gowns! The stylists seem to be getting their act together and realising how much shine and glow well selected jewels can enhance an ensemble.
My favourite necklace of the night was worn by Leslie Mann (above), whilst not as jaw dropping as Jennifer Lawrence's 156.77carats of diamonds by Chopard ( (below) which you just couldn't miss!), Leslie's one of a kind Irene Neuwirth mixed gemstone necklace was a wonderful way to display one-off gems and so different to the diamond look that has abounded recently. She also wore pink tourmaline and diamond earrings.
Earrings were mostly long, whether linear or chandelier, following the proposed trend for earrings in 2016 and bracelet cuffs featured heavily on wrists.
Colourful gemstone earrings, bracelets and ring were definitely in view all over the red carpet, the stage and the after parties. Here are some of them...
Bernadette Peters in David Webb jewels.
Bryce Dallas Howard in Irene Neuwirth fire opal and diamond earrings.
Carly Chakin in what appear to be aquamarine or sky blue topaz and diamond earrings.
Gina Rodriguez in Neil Lane.

Zoe Lister Jones (above) wore these magnificent Irene Neuwirth mixed gemstone earrings to an after party.
Zendaya and Jane Fonda went the pearl route...

Helen Mirren in Harry Winston
